March 2006 Cruisers Newsletter

The next meeting will be on Monday, April 17th, 2006 at Marv Witte’s Garage.  Directions: Take Dakota Cty 86 north out of Cannon Falls to Dakota Cty 85.  Take a right on 85 and follow north to New Trier (Dan’s Bar).  Cross Mn Hwy 50 and continue north past the Trophy House restaurant and about ¼ mile past Trophy House on your left is Marv’s garage at 23525 Hogan Ave.   If you get lost call Marv at 651-353-7654 for further directions.

Highlights from March's meeting.

• Summer cruises; need ideas for routes.  Also, Americruz has a stop over in Lincoln, Nebraska in July.   It might be a nice cruise with our group if we can afford the gas!

• Donations: Paul to call John.  And, a motion was made to donate our usual to the CF Food Shelf as the donation is matched in March.

• Car Club emblems for your rides are available from Gary for $1.00 each.

• Ryan to contact Robin Gross to ask to come to meeting or meet with officers to dicuss Webb site maintenance.(e.g. pictures of members rides).

• Denny requested the final registration for the Brainerd trip & to have the money to him by April 1st.

• Speedway trip: 3 members so far, transportation depends on number signing up; will decide at April meeting.

• Motion was made and seconded to use trophies from O’Reilly’s and their sponsorship as the trophies are excellent quality.  They will be about ½ price from the usual price, and that includes our club logo.

• The Little Log House Antique show has sent us registration blanks; please fill them out at our next meeting because we want to send them in as a group.

• Gary presented the Allina Health System raffle for a 2006 Ford Mustang.  It has better odds than the powerball for $100 per ticket.

• GSTA car show is April 1st & 2nd at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

  • Monday, April 17th; 7:00 PM. Car Club Meeting at Marv Witte's Pole Barn Garage; see the directions above.
  • Friday, April 21'st  12 noon: we leave the city parking lot for Lincoln, Nebraska to go on our tour of Speedway Motors.   For details, call Bob Bryan at 263-3798.  Call the Super 8 Motel in Lincoln to reserve a room on Friday nite.  For your reservation, call 402-476-8887 prior to March 17th, and mention the Cannon Cruisers.
  • Sunday, April 23rd, 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM   Northern Lights Swap Meet in Hugo, MN at the Blacksmith Lounge
  • Sunday, May 7th, 7AM-4PM.  19th Annual Buick Show at the Minnesota Fairgrounds; Show and Swap.
  • Monday, May 15th, 7:00 PM.  Club meeting at Hannah’s Bend Park.

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
