July 2006 Cruisers Newsletter

The next meeting will be Monday, August 21'st at 7:00 PM at Hannah’s Bend Park.  Other important dates and times to remember are Friday August 4'th, 5:00 PM at Grandpa’s Garage; and Saturday, 8:00 AM at Hannah’s Bend Park.   Show set-up is on Sunday, August 6'th , 5:00 AM till 4:00 PM. SHOWTIME!

Highlights from July's meeting.

• For the August 4'th cruise, we will be going on the Welch Road Tour.   Line up starts at 5:00 PM at Grandpa’s Garage.   We need all the help we can get: ask your friends and relatives to help with parking and handing out cruise maps.

• The Swap Area was discussed for the show; and Marv, Ron J., Matt, and Adam will head up the swap crew.   If any members have items to sell, please put the dollar amount and your name and give it to a member of the swap crew.

• Any member with a classified for sale item, get details to Gary and he will have inserted at the web site.

• Many reports on Hastings Cruise are in.   All are encouraged to go on the 2'nd & 4th Saturday of the month on main street downtown Hastings from 5:00 PM-10:00 PM.

• The After-the-Show-PICNIC will be at Ryan's place on Friday evening, August 25'th, 6:00 PM till whenever.   Bring chairs, special refreshments, and dessert or salad to pass.  Please sign up at Car Show or RSVP Gary 263-4622.

  • Saturday, July 29'th, 8:00 AM Meet at Cannon Auto Repair to drive to the Old Log Cabin Show in Hastings and have Car Club display- Hand out flyers.
  • Sunday, July 30'th, 8:00 AM  Meet at Country Kitchen to put up banners.  We need 7 foot ladder, wrenchs, gloves, screwdriver, wire etc.
  • Monday, July 31'st, 7:00 PM  Meet at Hannah’s Bend - last wrap up meeting before show.
  • Friday, August 4'th, 1:00 PM  Meet at the city lot across from Econofoods.   We will put out parking cones && cruise signs.
  • Friday, August 4'th, 4:00 PM  Meet at Grandpa’s Garage to set up for the cruise.   We will also set up cones, food shelf, and PA system.
  • Friday, August 4'th, 5:00 to 6:00 PM  We need the parking crew present to line up cars for cruise.
  • Friday, August 4'th, 10:00 PM  We will return to the city lot to pick up cones and signs.
  • Saturday, August 5'th, 8:00 AM  Meet at Hannah’s Bend Park for show set up.
  • Saturday, August 5'th, 4:00 PM  Meet at Ryan’s to put up show signs.
  • Sunday, August 6'th, 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM  SHOWTIME at Hannah’s Bend Park.   7:00 AM registration and classification starts.  Ballots due in by 1:00 PM, trophies at 3:00 PM, clean up at 4-5pm.
  • Saturday, August 12'th, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM   Hastings Downtown Cruise.
  • Monday, August 21'st, 7:00 PM  Club Meeting at Hannah’s Bend Park.
  • Friday, August 25'th, 5:00 PM until whenever  Club Picnic at Ryan’s Place. Please RSVP, and bring chairs & a dish to pass.
  • Saturday, August 26'th, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM   Hastings Downtown Cruise.

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
