February 2006 Cruisers Newsletter

The next meeting will be on Monday, March 20th at 7 pm at DBI Sala Inc. in Red Wing.  We will have a tour of the facility and meeting to follow.  We will car pool from the city parking lot across from Econofoods and leave at 6 pm.  You can also meet us at DBI Sala at 6:30 pm.

Directions to DBI SALA: Take Highway 19 from Cannon Falls to Redwing and follow Hwy 61 just past the Ford dealer to Cannon River Drive(road between Riedell & Red Wing shoe).   Turn left onto Cannon River Drive for 1 block and turn left on Sala Way; go approximately 1 block and DBI SALA is on left side of road.  There is a 2 bay recessed dock area with an entrance door.  Please meet at this door by 6:30 pm.  If you have safety glasses or Rx glasses please bring them.

Highlights from February's meeting.

• The club banquet was well attended with 35 in attendance and many awards were given out.  Marcia Clemens won the attendance award of the $100 Sears Certificate and Kelly Helgren won the $100 chamber bucks.  Gary Sigmeth was selected as Member of the Year 2005.

• The Friday evening cruises for 2006 are as follows:
Friday May 19th;
Friday June 9th
Fridays July 7th and 21st
Friday August 4th (The Big One!).

• Denny will arrange for a tour and meeting at DBI industries for our March meeting.

• Discussed trophies as to source, MPL industries or O’Reilly’s.  More information at the next meeting.

• Brainerd NHRA trip was reviewed by Denny, and he passed out registration forms to be back to him with check before April 1st.   He will get a block of tickets.

• The Speedway Motors tour is in the planning stage with Bob Bryan for the Friday & Saturday; April 21st & 22nd.  Bob will have info at banquet or call him at 263-3798

• Gary to sign up for 4th of July parade; 10 cars + trailer and display.

  • Saturday & Sunday, April 1'st & 2'nd  - 50th Annual Gopher State Timing Association Car Show at the Minnesota State Fair Coliseum.
  • Monday, April 17th, 7 pm   Car Club Meeting- Place to be arranged.
