December 2005 Cruisers Newsletter

The next meeting will be on Monday, December 19th at 7 pm at Rick & Marcia Clemens's Farm.   This will also be our Christmas gift exchange.   Spouses and significant others are invited.


Highlights from November's meeting.

• Gary has reserved Saturday, February 25th at Grandpa’s Garage for the Annual Club Banquet.   The menu is to be decided later.

• Nomination committee presented the election slate: Pres-Elect: Ryan Rounds, Doug La Rock; Treasurer: John Lee; Secretary: Gary Sigmeth; Board of Directors: Adam Johnston, Rick Clemens(Marcia).

• Show flyers need to be done by February, Doug will need everybody's help with this.

• Tour of Speedway Motors to be scheduled for early spring of 06 by Bob Bryan.

• Doug La Rock reported on the Club window sticker and the design was discussed.   Doug will bring new designs to next meeting.

• John Lee will attend the city council meeting to get approval for show and parking.

• John Lee will also talk to Glenn at Grandpa’s about advertising on flyer.

• Denny reported that Brainerd NHRA is on the calendar for August 10th,11,12,&13th 2006; and that he will have more information by the club banquet.

• Upcoming meetings: Jan 06 at Denny’s, February ?, March ?

• Minnesota Rodware have asked about having their name on one of our trophies.

• Spouses and significant others are invited to the Xmas meeting.

• Gary had various door prizes at the meeting; in/lb torque wrenches etc.

• Ryan Rounds to contact Robin about our web site and changes.

• Adopt a Highway day went well and Denny thanked all that helped.

Up-Coming Events

  • Monday, December 19th, 7pm-? : Meeting and Christmas gift exchange at Rick & Marcia Clemens Rolling Hills Farm.   Spouses and significant others are invited.
    Directions: Take highway 52 south of Cannon Falls past the Edgewood Restaurant to Goodhue Cty #9, turn left(East) on #9 and follow towards Goodhue.   Just before Goodhue turn left on County #8(North) and follow about 1 to 2 miles to 375th street, then turn left and follow up the hill for approx ½ mile to the Clemens’s farm which is the 1'st place on your left.  If you get lost, call 651-258-4527 for directions.  See you all there, and remember to bring those gag gifts to exchange(something from the garage,hubcap, spark plug etc).
  • Monday, January 16th, 7 pm:  Cannon Cruiser meeting at Denny Sjoquist’s Garage
  • Monday, February 20th,2006,7pm   Cannon Cruiser meeting place to be determined
  • Saturday, February 25th, 6pm  Club Annual Banquet at Grandpa’s Garage

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
