August 2005 Cruisers Newsletter The next meeting will be on Monday, September 19th at 7:00 pm at Hannah’s Bend Park. The the after-show picnic will be at Ryan Rounds' place on Friday evening August 26th Highlights from August's meeting. • Ryan Rounds has volunteered to have the Club after show appreciation picnic at his place on Friday evening,August 26th starting at 5-6pm. The club will provide burgers, brats,and sweet corn. Please bring a salad or dessert to pass and chairs. • Motion was made and 2nd and passed to donate $300 to the Cannon Falls Police Reserve. Paul and Gary will meet with the chief. • Much discussion about the web site. Denny will ask Ross Rounds to be our webb site manager and coordinate with Robin, our web designer. Denny authorized John Lee to pay our remaining web design charge to Robin. • The car show was reviewed; and the ideas discussed were as follows: possibly moving swappers to a specific area north of the Lions food booth, advertise more, utilize web site, and plan on about 200-250 cars every year, and to expand the 1200 class if the muscle car shows are on different days than our show. • John Lee reported that we are financially sound after the show and will have enough capital for next years show, our 20th! • Trip to Speedway Motors in Nebraska was tentatively scheduled for late October or November by Bob Bryan. • Banquet committee for 2006: Denny, Gary, Dallas, Paul and Jerry Carroll, will get a bid from Grandpa’s Garage. • John Lee will check on a CD for our show capital for 11 months or shorter. • Gary will send out thank-you letters to all our sponsors. • The drawing was won by Gary Sigmeth. KEEP CRUISING! The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing. Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members. Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc. If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.
