NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be Monday, October 18th, at 7 pm at Doc & Peggy Nicolai’s Super Garage at 5155 250th Street East, Hampton,Mn. 263-3752. Directions: Take Hywy 52 north from Cannon Falls (6.5 miles) to 250th Street at Greg’s Meats, turn left on 250th and cross hywy 56(Emery Ave) and Lewiston Blvd. The Nicolai’s place is 1st on your right after crossing Lewiston Blvd—The meeting will be in the biggest building, please bring folding chairs.

SEPTEMBER 2010 MEETING HIGHLITES

  • The members voted unanimously to have a show next year which will be our 25th Anniversary Show. The members voted unanimously to have John pay for our club insurance for 2010-2011.
  • Denny set the date for our Adopt-a- Highway project for Saturday, October 2nd. Breakfast at Kountry Kitchen at 8am and trash pick up start at 9am at St. Pius North parking Lot.
  • The Cannon Cruising Planning Committee is Al Fliegel,Chair, Tom Fritz, Denny Sjoquist, Dallas Dinsen and Doug LaRock. They will be planning the 2011 show and will bring ideas for approval to the members.
  • Club picnic went well with 28 people in attendance, great bonfire,Marcia Clemens won the attendance door prize of chamber bucks- to buy parts for Rick’s Camaro.
  • Neal Sjoquist was voted in from probationary to active member unanimously!
  • A special thanks to Bob & Linda Bryan for hosting our club picnic.
  • The club received the “ Star of the North Award” from Congressman John Klein for our donations to the community especially the food shelf.
  • Gary sent in our application to MSRA to be a voting event for 2011—should know by end of Oct.
  • The members discussed Cruise-Ins for 2011 and decided that we would have club activities by attending different cruise ins by other clubs and towns in the area.
  • The Nomination Committee was started with Pres. Dallas,Board member Matt Weierke and member at large, will have report for October meeting. This will be for officers for 2011.

  • CAR SHOW & CLUB EVENTS

    • Sunday, October 17th, 40th Annual Roadsters Swap Meet, 6am on at Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
    • Monday, October 18th, 7pm Club Meeting at Doc & Peggy Nicolai’s Garage with tour.
    • Monday, November 15th, 7pm club meeting, place to be determined.

Madison,Minnesota is known as the “lutefisk” capital of the world, avoid this city at all costs. The Hormel Company of Austin,Mn. Produces 6 million cans of SPAM a year even though no one actually eats it.

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
