NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be Monday, MAY 18th at 7 pm at Dave Bobert's Garage at 36999 County 14 Blvd which is approximately 3/4 mile north of Sogn, a big Red Barn on your right. Look for fire number 36999. Dave is a Mopar guy and has graciously allowed us to see his collection so please thank him when you get the chance. If lost call Dave at 263-2962. See you all there!

APRIL 2009 MEETING HIGHLITES

  • Discussed having the Aments' 39 Pontiac as our feature car if they come to our show.
  • Gary will set up a Saturday dinner cruise to Pine Island in May, more details later.
  • Tours discussed were plating operation in Hugo and Summit brewery in St. Paul.
  • Club picnic this summer and Doug and Gary volunteered to set up.
  • The club received a Thank You from the CF Food Shelf for the $300 donation.
  • Denny showed the Swap flyer for Kevin's which will be put on the web site.
  • Motion was made and 2nd and passed to reimburse Gary $119.40 for yearly web host fee.
  • The 1st reading of the amendments to the by-laws was done and after 3 readings the Board of Directors can approve the amendments for addition to the by-laws.
  • Motion was made and 2nd and passed to allow Al Fliegel to have the 4 trophies updated for the show for $40.
  • The spring ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY club activity will be on Saturday, May 2nd, optional breakfast will be at 7am at Country Kitchen and program to start at 8am at St. Pius V Church north parking lot.
  • Al Fliegel brought the buttons he made for the cruise-ins and everyone was impressed and thanked Al for a job well done. These buttons will be handed out at the Buick show and the 1st Hastings Cruise-In.
  • A number of our members have had health issues (Scott Quade, Marcia Clemens and Inga Weierke) and all the members wished them back to full health for the cruisin season!
  • A motion was made and 2nd and passed to make Mel Stanko a lifetime honorary member. This will have to be approved by the Board of Directors according to the by-laws.
  • All members are to think about attending the Little Log Cabin show the last Saturday in July, if going let Gary know and he will submit the names as a club entry.
  • Thursday, June 11th the Cannon Falls Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a bike race and needs volunteers- Denny, Gary and John have volunteered so far.
  • Doug LaRock has volunteered to see about fixing the club's amplifier for the sound system.

    • Saturday, June 6th, 5pm till 10 pm- 1st Cruise-In Downtown Cannon Falls on Mill Street.
    • Sunday, June 7th- Annual GM Show & Swap at the Minnesota Fairgrounds 9am-4pm.
    • Monday, June 15th, Club Meeting 7pm at Hannah's Bend Park
    • Thursday thru Sunday, June 18th- June 21st, Back to the 50's Car Show MSRA at the Minnesota Fairgrounds.

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
