MARCH 2011 MEETING HIGHLITES

  • The Cannon Cruising Days Planning Committee is Al Fliegel,Chair, Tom Fritz, Denny Sjoquist, Dallas Dinsen,Scott Quade and Doug LaRock. They suggested having the theme of 25 for our 25th Year Show. 25 classes, 25 gas cards, 25 trophies etc. Members are encouraged to think up other 25 ideas.
  • The TOUR at L&L was arranged by Bob Bryan and they will be showing us the new technology in painting green with aquabase paints, the date will be Monday,March 7th at 7pm,will car pool from the Cannon Falls Commuter lot across from band shell--*** leaving promptly at 6pm.
  • Motion was made and passed to have a budget of $2525 for the show for expenses. Membership yearly dues are due by March 31st of $20, you can pay Denny at the meeting or mail to him. Denny’s address is 32288 County 25 Blvd.,Cannon Falls,Mn. 55009.
  • The Cruising Days Committee will be sending out letters to SEMA members like Jegs,Summit for donations for our show. Doug will be our classifier and his word will be final with John Lee as the trouble shooter. Members are encouraged to think of Friday cruise ideas as to route and promotion of.
  • The club spring picnic was changed to Saturday, June 4th because of too many conflicts on May dates.
  • The NHRA Nationals are August 18 thru 20, 2011 at Brainerd with reserved seat cost of $165/person,those going need to get their $$$ into Denny by April 1st so he can purchase tickets as a group.
  • The members voted to reup as associate members of the CF Chamber of Commerce. Al Fliegel reported that all adds on the flyer are sold and all award plaques are sold with the exception of 12 plaques of the 25. We had $427 for food shelf and the members voted to donate from the club $73 to make an even $500 which will be matched by the state.
  • Had a great Tour of Triangle Machine by Doug and Andy with awesome treats; also Mike Meyers, manager of NAPA gave us a tour and stressed that he would give discounts to all members.
  • Dallas reported on the Barrett-Jackson auction that was attended by Dallas,Denny & Gary with fabulous hosts of John&Borgny Lee in Fountain Hills,Arizona. They were overdosed on cars by time they left.
  • Tom Fritz Sr. volunteered his garage for the next meeting on Monday,March 21st at 7pm.

    • Monday, March 7th, 7pm TOUR OF L&L Street Rods in Kasson, car pool from Cannon Falls commuter lot leaving promptly at 6pm.
    • Monday, March 21st, Club Meeting at 7pm, at Tom Fritz’s Garage in New Trier.
    • April 9th & 10th- G.S.T.A. Car Show at the Mn State Fairgrounds.
    • Saturday, June 4th, Club Spring Picnic & Awards, place to be determined.
    • June 17th-19th, BTT50’s at The Mn State Fairgrounds

CLUB HUMOR:A friend went to a car dealership the other day and said, "I'd like a gas cap for my Yugo." The dealer replied, "Okay, sounds like a fair trade".

The club newsletter is published and circulated on a monthly basis to all of its members that are in good standing.   Advertising space in the newsletter is available to all members.   Some advertising options are as follows: garage space for rent, vehicles for sale, parts for sale, etc.  If you wish to submit items for the newsletter; contact the editor, Gary Sigmeth, at (507)263-4622.   Be sure to contact him before the first week of each month.
