Welcome to the club! Click here to get a copy of the car show registration form for Cannon Cruisin' Days weekend, which is the first weekend in August 2008.

Or, if that link isn't working right, just click here or on the registration button on the left button panel and print out the page that opens up for you.   It's a little bit smaller than the original PDF, and it's also split into two sections; but it is printer-friendly and should always open correctly.NEW: You can now find the swapper's registration form on this page!!!

We have a lot of fantastic events planned for this summer! We are premiering our FREE saturday night Cruise-Ins downtown, we are planning on several club-member cruises, and we have various cruises and shows to attend! For more information about these, visit our Events Page.

Come check out Cannon Cruisin' Days for a cruise, a show and more!

Once again, we will be hosting Cannon Cruisin' Days the first weekend in August. Friday evening, August 1st, we are having a great country cruise, and Sunday we will be having a Car Show and a Swap Meet. Check out our show flyer for more information.

The members wish to thank their many sponsors for their support for the show last year, as well as the Cannon Falls police for their cruise escort.   They would also like to thank the Cannon Falls Public Works Department for all of their help and maintenance of Hannah’s Bend Park, which always receives many complements from the car show attendees.  Thanks to the Cannon Falls Chamber of Commerce for their help in fielding questions about the weekend and the to the businesses for their support in distributing coupons for the participant visitors to the community.

Be sure to check out our photo album page! It's still in it's infancy, and we need your help.   Please E-mail Cruiser Adam with any car club related pictures that might be appropriate for the album.

    CRUISERS CLUB HISTORY

The first formative meeting of the club was held in spring of 1986; which was the year of the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion,  “Out of Africa” was the Academy Award winner,  oil prices dipped to $10/barrel, Chernobyl nuclear disaster, Bill Elliott set the NASCAR record speed of 212 mph , and Cher called David Letterman an ASS on national tv.

The original members were; Dan Lind, Tony Nobach, Dennis Sjoquist, John Miller, Randy Schwake, John Bing, and Jim Cylkowski.  The only original member still in the club is Dennis Sjoquist whom has been president of the club many times over the years.  John Bing was the first president of the club in 1986.

The first car show was held at the Cannon Mall in August, and we had about 50 participants.  It was a combination cruise and show.  We cruised from the mall to the downtown city parking lot.   The next group of shows were also held in August, 1st Sunday at the Cannon Ball Field where we had about 180 cars.  We outgrew that space, and then we started having car shows at Hannah’s Bend Park. We received many favorable comments on the location, so we continued to have the shows at that location with the Cannon Falls High School as the backup location.

Our show routine in the early years was the cruise on Friday evening; Teen Car show at the Mall which was sponsored by the Cannon Falls VFW, dance on Saturday night at the Bandshell, and the Show on Sunday.  Our largest show to date has been 286 cars and about the same number on our Friday cruise.

We have had great major sponsor support: Coca Cola of Red Wing, Mobil Oil of Cannon Falls, all the Banks of Cannon Falls, and the Cannon Falls Chamber of Commerce.  These sponsors have been with us over most of our 19 years of existence.

Our current membership is 28 active members, and this number has stayed consistent over the years.  We have donated all funds over our expenses to various groups in Cannon Falls.  The Cannon Falls Community Food Shelf, Cannon Falls Police Reserve, and the Issac Walton League have all been recipients of donations.  We have also worked closely with the Cannon Falls Lions; their group has provided our food concessions over many years.

The future goals of the club is to foster the car hobby in our up and coming younger group of relatives of current members, to enjoy our cars by cruising, car shows, tours of interesting places, NHRA races, NASCAR races, and the comradery of our common interest with our continued support of community needs with our donations.
